This ROCK TALK includes stories of NH communities that have turned to the recreation economy to drive policy & passion forward.
While outdoor pursuits have been surging during the pandemic, some NH communities turned to the recreation economy pre-pandemic as a means for providing a sustainable economic future in a rural economy. These communities tackle the realities of a shifting workforce, aging population, and rise in passion for outdoor pursuits in order to set the stage for creating a balance in connection with nature. Join host Tyler Ray of Granite Outdoor as he moderates a discussion on the outcomes of this effort together with:
Shannon Rogers (UNH) regarding Ossipee & Bristol, NH
Marty Parichand (Outdoor New England, Mill City Park at Franklin Falls) regarding Franklin, NH
Maura Adams (Northern Forest Center) regarding mountain biking network Bike Borderlands which includes Gorham, Franconia, and Littleton, NH; and
Tyler Ray (Granite Backcountry Alliance), wearing his GBA hat, discussing the various communities within GBA's backcountry skiing network.
Registration is FREE for the March 12, 2021 event (12-1pm).
