ROCK TALK! Turning to Nature: NH Communities Embracing the Outdoor Economy

This ROCK TALK includes stories of NH communities that have turned to the recreation economy to drive policy & passion forward.

While outdoor pursuits have been surging during the pandemic, some NH communities turned to the recreation economy pre-pandemic as a means for providing a sustainable economic future in a rural economy. These communities tackle the realities of a shifting workforce, aging population, and rise in passion for outdoor pursuits in order to set the stage for creating a balance in connection with nature. Join host Tyler Ray of Granite Outdoor as he moderates a discussion on the outcomes of this effort together with:

  • Shannon Rogers (UNH) regarding Ossipee & Bristol, NH

  • Marty Parichand (Outdoor New England, Mill City Park at Franklin Falls) regarding Franklin, NH

  • Maura Adams (Northern Forest Center) regarding mountain biking network Bike Borderlands which includes Gorham, Franconia, and Littleton, NH; and

  • Tyler Ray (Granite Backcountry Alliance), wearing his GBA hat, discussing the various communities within GBA's backcountry skiing network.

Registration is FREE for the March 12, 2021 event (12-1pm).
