What better place to gaze at the stars than at Squam Lake! This guided hike will take place on February 27 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Squam Lakes Association campus. We will spend time on our porch and the ice, conditions permitting, for some guided stargazing. This is a great event for all ages to spend some time outside and explore the night sky.
LRCC member Miranda Fisher will lead guided stargazing to see what the winter sky has to offer! Participants should come prepared to spend some time standing outside with proper winter layers, boots, and microspikes for anyone who wants to venture out on to the ice. Hot beverages, spare microspikes, and additional safety gear will be provided
For more information, or to sign up for this Guided Hike, visit the SLA website (squamlakes.org) or contact the SLA directly (603-968-7336). The SLA also offers other Guided Hikes and Adventure Ecology programs year round so be sure to check those out! These free programs are open to the public and cover a variety of nature and conservation related topics. These programs are presented by the LRCC AmeriCorps members at the SLA who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission.
