Q&A with Senior Recreation Planner Drew Pollak-Bruce, CPRP:

What does the outdoor economy mean to your organization?
As a company that plans, designs, and analyzes a wide range of projects that blend outdoor recreation and economic development, the outdoor economy is everything we are about here at SE Group. Over the years we have helped shape many of the world’s most successful recreation destinations—ranging from iconic mountain resorts to premier state parks and recreation-based communities. These diverse experiences provide our team with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the complex interplay between outdoor recreation assets, their host communities, and the local businesses and economies they support.

Why do you believe it is important to support the outdoor industry in New Hampshire?
The outdoor industry in New Hampshire is key diversifying the economy in the state through additional small and local manufacturers and recreation businesses as well as increasing the quality of life throughout the state. All of these factors make New Hampshire a highly desirable place to be a worker or start or relocate a business.

Granite Outdoor Alliance has four pillars of focus: economic development/infrastructure; conservation/stewardship; workforce/education; and health/wellness. Which pillar excited you most about joining GOA and why?
Economic development and infrastructure bring everyone into the tent and can be leveraged to build relationships with the legislature and other decision makers in support of conservation/stewardship, workforce/education, and health/wellness.
